 Before Sunset - on the river | Before Sunset (2004)This starts at a book signing by Jesse (Ethan Hawke) in a Paris bookshop one afternoon, and finishes just a few hours later in the apartment of Celine (Julie Deply) when it seems he will miss his flight back to New York. | We had already learned at the beginning during Q & A at the book reading, that the end would be inconclusive. We also were told that romantics would assume they get back together while cynics will not - so it depends on us.

The backdrop of Paris is fantastic - and it has had great reviews. This is really a sequel to a 1994 movie - Before Sunrise - where the couple, 9 years younger meet for a one-day fling. They promise to get back together one year later, and in this film we find out what happened. Hence the by-line: "What if you had a second chance with the one that got away." |
