When we left Lovina last February, two houses were being built using the Buka plan, but they were not far past the foundations. Now in September, both of these are finished, and our first commitment was to check them out. They are about 6-8 blocks west of our block, and first we looked at the one that is further west and we kept referring to this as Buka 1. The left image looks across the pool to the terrace in front of the bedrooms. Dian is walking across the wooden deck with his camera/phone in action. In the photo on the right Dian is in action again on the terrace in front of the downstairs living space. You can see how tall the doors and rooms are,
In the centre of the radiating boards of the decking there is a water feature. The details of ours are yet to be decided. Then in the right hand photo we are inside the downstairs living space. The curved stone wall and the stairway is a feature of the house. We have chosen the same style of stonework. The right hand photo shows the living space upstairs. Often this would be open, but sometimes rain may blwo in so on this Buka they have fitted sail cloth blinds that can be taken down. Two bedrooms have an interconnecting door, but in ours we are not having this door. You can see the rooms have high ceilings. In this Buka - the bedrooms do not have the extra 1 metre depth. Here you see a shower in oneof the open bathrooms. |
